The scammer who cheated the hearts of 39 women was recently sentenced to jail after posing as a “handsome Korean guy”, female victims who were tricked into believing that he was the “handsome man” send him money, totalling 575,000RMB (About SGD$115,000).

The real man behind the fake photos is 32-year-old He Tan Zhen, In the past 4 years, he only used 2 photos of handsome Korean boys, with different identities and speaking skills, to obtain trick 39 unmarried women from Shenzhen, Nanjing, Linyi, Yichang and other places and cheated more than 560,000 yuan.
Most of the victims were unmarried women in their 20s. The most deceived is 110,000 yuan and the least 2,000 yuan.
The scammer portrayed himself as a 27-year-old Korean man and said that he was 1.8m tall and working as a doctor in Hangzhou.
A 22-year-old woman, Chen Hong, said that she lent him 110,000 yuan in a period of eight months, but he could not repay it even after asking multiple times.
On another occasion, he asked her to borrow another 13,000 yuan. As her savings was depleted, she was reminded by her family of a scam when she went to her sister to borrow money to give to the man.
Chen Hong said that although they have never met, they have been getting along as lovers, so it should not be a scam.
After numerous reports of getting scammed by the victims, the China Police launched an investigation and finally apprehended the man.
He was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison for fraud and fined 30,000 yuan.
