A netizen shared his story after paying SGD$100 for nothing and ended up having to make a Police report on a mover.
Here is the story:
Found a fish tank mover in Carousell @$165 and tank mover named Sky ask for $65 deposit but I steady paid $100.
A day before the job, I asked Sky if can help shuffle 2 tanks from the seller shop so I can take the 2 tanks with the right background. He quoted me an extra $30 just to Shuffle 2 tanks that are just sided by side. I rejected and said I will move it myself then and I told him I will be there to monitor their work. Sky was upset and said he don’t want to do the job for me already and refused to return me my $100 deposit.
To cut the story short, I went to make a police report. I took a picture of the police post and show Sky I am seriously making a police report, he was not afraid, he claimed he is the boss and he is with China Chinese accent.
So a police report was made and the officer said I have no case and they can’t do anything about it because this is a Civil case unless I hire a lawyer to claim back my money.
So pls learn from my experience, read any clause or don’t pay till the job is done. I have found another mover for $180 and he said payment will done only after the job is completed. Attached are screenshots and police reports.
