The Singapore Police Force conducted a check at a nightlife establishment located at Sim Lim Square on 9 February at about 9.35pm.
28 persons were found inside the unit, with about 10 women between the ages of 24 and 48 believed to be hostesses, allegedly providing companionship services to the customers and intermingling.
The women are purportedly of Chinese, Malaysian and Vietnamese nationalities.
All 28 of them are currently being investigated by the police for safe management measures breaches.
One of the women tested positive for Covid
The 10 women were arrested for offences of the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act 1990, with one of the also testing positive for Covid-19 via an ART test.
Two men, a 34-year-old and a 61-year-old, who are the alleged operators of the establishment, are under investigation for offences under the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015.
They are also under investigation for breaches of Safe Management Measures and allegedly failed to control the physical interactions of the staff and patrons, as well as failing to ensure that the group sizes did not exceed the allowed group size of 5 persons.
They are also being investigated for allowing video recordings to be played at the unit.
The police reiterated their stance against vice and illicit activities, saying that they will continue to conduct enforcement checks.
They added that they have zero tolerance for persons and businesses who flout the law and will take enforcement actions against those who flout the safe management measures.
