PRC SELLER FROM LAZADA ALLEGEDLY SCAMS WOMAN

A woman named Kimberly Karla took to Facebook to voice her frustration as she was scammed by a seller on Lazada. The police were even called in but the only thing that the police could do was tell the scammer “He should have principal and morals and he should not cheat people.”

Here is what she stated in her Facebook post.

I got scammed.

I was hunting for a Xiaomi mi 9t pro after recommendations from friends. I googled it and saw Lazada has it. There were a few shops who had it but I wanted to do a COD because I know there was issues whereby buyers received a brick or a stone instead of the real deal. This shop that I have found is called Inno Shop. (photos in comments)

So that day, We were delivering durian and was such in a rush. I met this Chinese National male who sold me the phone. The phone was sealed in a plastic. We opened, we turned it on. The phone was working while the Same time we were talking to the guy as he kept rushing us to transfer and we were also in a rush. So I did a pay now to him of $578.

When I went home and started to play the camera…. I realised it kept lagging here and there but it would work eventually. Sometimes must wait for more than 5 mins till It can show my face.. Video call is worse. It will just jam there when the person who called me Is wondering why I’m not appearing and I had to apologise that my cam had an issue. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Ofcourse I got scolding that I shouldnt buy online. Blah blah blah. But for me, No matter what it is… Where I buy it.. is not the issue. Noone should be cheated in anyway.

Told the seller that th phone had defect. He asked me to go look for xiaomi ask them to replace. I told him that I just bought it yesterday and that they have 3 months shop warranty. I told him to take a new set to replace me or refund me. BUT NO! HE JUST KEPT SAYING ITS MY PROBLEM NOT HIS. And had stopped answering my calls. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Made a trip down to the police station.. they only said they can’t help me unless more people come up with the complaints.

When Xiaomi opened. I was so happy that my nightmare would be over. So I went down and told them that my phone had a cam lagging issue… When they checked the phone…. It’s not even a local set. It’s from Japan. So they can’t help me, advice me or fix my phone for me even if I pay them.

Cut story short. We met up with him wanting to buy the same model. He showed up.. but don’t want to refund me.. don’t want to change new set.

So we told him… Here is $600. The phone that you brought down…. Now I open and see.. you told me it’s local set.. if now I open and if it’s not local set. You sure die cos evidence is here already. The guy straight away said. Sorry. I brought the wrong phone down. 😡😡😡😡😡😡

After calling the police he eventually said he will only refund me $50. ($578 become $50)

Police came.. ofcourse same like before. They can’t help us. Okay la…. Atleast they tried telling him that he should have principal and morals and he should not cheat people.

In the end… He only refunded me $100. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I came back home still damn sad. Phone still spoil. Hoping that you would share my post so noone will be cheated by this guy.. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

If you have any idea how I can fix this software issue. Please help me. 😭😭
