PRC WOMAN FORGED PASSPORT STAMP TO WORK AS A PROSTITUTE IN SG

A Chinese national was sentenced to 14 months of jail and fined $2,000 after she was found guilty of forging passport stamps to extend her stay in Singapore to work as a prostitute.

The woman was caught in a hotel room located at Balestier during a police operation. According to the court document, there is a total of 19 forged entry stamps in her passport. Police investigation revealed that she was first granted a 14 days social visit pass back in Mar 2016.

Through a friend, she was able to extend her stay in Singapore by forging passport stamps. However, each extension would cost her $200 which last about 2 months. Her friend was caught in 2017 and repatriated back to China. It was then she was contacted by an unknown person to get her extension.

In total, the woman has stayed in Singapore illegally for a period of 3 years and 4 months.
