Mr. Chong Choon Ying a 48-year-old support staff working in a primary school was sentenced to 2 months jail along with 1 stroke of the rotan after he pleaded guilty in court for molesting a minor under 14.
Chong was working in the school with a non-teaching role and performs cleaning duties and general administrative support for the school.
“Cute”
Chong took a liking to the boy in 2017 after finding that he was “cute”
The victim was only 8-years-old when he was first assaulted by Chong. Chong asked the victim for a hug whenever he is alone on numerous occasions between 2017 and 2018. After hugging he would often grab his crotch and molest the boy.
He would always the first stretch out his hands and asked the boy to go near him when the boy is alone. The incident happened in a school located in central area, the school nor the boy’s name can be named to protect the identity of the child.
The boy finally confided with his father in early 2019 and the case came to light.
