A man felt sick and vomited in the Grab car but the driver remained calm and talk nicely to the passenger. Normally vomiting in a taxi or grab we would expect to get scolded by the driver but the man did otherwise.
Here is the story:
Hi, wanted to share my experience on the 7th of July. I booked a grab around 8 am in the morning yesterday and the previous day I know I wasn’t feeling too well. Although yes it was very embarrassing, I hopped on the car and settled down. But little did I know, the moment I closed the door, I started vomiting, literally on my mask & then I removed it and vomited everywhere. (Yes, very embarrassing for me). This particular grab driver took it very lightly, he told me that the moment he realised I didn’t answer any of his questions, he knew something was wrong. After I vomited, he then proceeded to ask if I was okay & offered me tissues.
I apologised and told him if it was okay for him to just go to the nearest petrol station to get his car cleaned however most petrol stations in my area were either still not opened for cleaning or didn’t accept the offer to clean the car. He brought me to many places from upper Thomson road to Serangoon to Loyang rd etc. Then finally he apologised and said that he only knew of one place that would be willing to clean the car which was located at Beach Rd.
As I was feeling very embarrassed and felt very bad, I agreed and said that I would do anything to help. So he brought me there and yes, they did accept the offer. After which, he even asked me to sit in the front instead and talked to me throughout the ride to my destination to ensure that I am feeling okay. He even tried to start a small chat, as if I hadn’t just vomited in his car.
He told me about his other few experiences and even told me to visit a clinic since I may have experienced food poisoning (which I did). I just wanted to commend this driver because even after everything I put him through, he handled the situation very calmly.
Of course, I had to tip him a decent amount for his effort and bringing me around just to get his car cleaned.
