A Singaporean woman has lodged a police report after allegedly discovering semen on the handle of her gate following a late-night encounter with a suspicious man outside her Punggol flat.
The incident reportedly occurred close to midnight on January 29 at Block 421B Northshore Drive in Punggol. According to CCTV footage later shared on social media, a middle-aged man dressed in a white polo shirt and khaki shorts was seen walking past the unit before turning back towards the gate.
The footage appears to show the man approaching the door, touching the digital lock handle and lingering outside the flat. At one point, he is seen gripping his crotch while facing the unit, before walking away and returning several times. The woman said she did not recognise the individual and had never encountered similar behaviour in the estate before.
Sticky Substance Discovered The Next Morning
The resident, who identified herself as Lina, said she only became aware that something was amiss the following morning when she and her husband were leaving home for breakfast.
As she reached for the gate handle, she noticed that it felt sticky and was smeared with a dried white substance. Pressed for time, she wiped it off before leaving the flat.
It was only later, after her son pointed out what the substance might be, that the family reviewed footage from their doorbell camera while travelling on a bus. Upon replaying the recordings, they realised the man had tampered with the gate area the night before.
Lina subsequently contacted the police and filed a report. She said officers are currently investigating the matter and remain in contact with her.
Neighbours Also Report Suspicious Behaviour
The case has unsettled residents in the area. Lina shared that a neighbour had also encountered the same man shortly after the incident.
According to the neighbour, the man was allegedly seen lingering along the staircase and corridor. When she looked through her peephole, she reportedly found him staring directly back at her. Alarmed, she alerted her husband, whose presence appeared to scare the man away.
The circulating footage has sparked widespread concern online, with some commenters speculating about possible attempts to study fingerprint patterns on the digital lock. Others questioned the man’s intentions and called for heightened vigilance.
Police investigations are ongoing. Residents are advised to remain alert, review their home surveillance systems regularly and report any suspicious activity immediately to safeguard household security and personal safety.
