The USA and Russia have always maintained a balance of power of nuclear missiles between the two countries that the arsenal would mutually assure destruction of either one if one of them if it were to launch.

SWIFT system?

Previously, President Biden was questioned by the press on why The SWIFT banking system was not part of the sanctions. However, earlier today the SWIFT system has been removed from Russia, multiple media reports previously reported that reasons it hasn’t been used because it would be such a strong sanction that people have referred to it as the “nuclear option” except it doesn’t have any nuclear weapons associated with it.

Media outlets believed that the statement Putin issued was in response to the sanction of the SWIFT banking system.

MSNBC reported: “Vladimir Putin is considering the idea that his nuclear option is worth reminding the world about in the face of growing sanctions in opposition to the invasion of Ukraine

Nuclear?

Francec24’s editor Armand Jordan said that this statement means that “the Nuclear forces are ready, that doesn’t mean that they’re going to be used but I’m not sure it is actually that staggering because Putin did mention this nuclear issue in that address on the eve of the war when he effectively issued a veiled statement about nuclear weapons to the West. It was something like “if you interfere with what we are doing you will meet a response that you have never experienced in your life” that was clearly a reference to Russia’s nuclear weapons.”

However, many media outlets are saying that Putin might be playing the bluff card.
