A 61-year-old man, believed to the former Ngee Ann Polytechnic senior lecturer Tan Boon Lee, is due to the charged later today (17 March) for allegedly making racist remarks.
He will also be charged for possession of obscene films, according to the Straits Times.
Tan was fired for serious misconduct by Ngee Ann Polytechnic after a video of him making racist remarks to an interracial couple at Orchard Road went viral last year.
The Singapore Police Force said that they take a serious view of acts that can harm the racial harmony in Singapore, saying that anyone who acts in a manner that causes ill will and hostility among the different races in Singapore will be dealt with.
He is facing a total of four charges.
