According to a media release, a 58 year was jailed for 20 years for sexually assaulting his 12-year old stepdaughter and her 13-year-old friend.
The accuse was charged with 15 charges including molesting, sexual assault and offences against a minor.
This is not the first time he has committed such a crime. The accuse was previously sentenced to 24 years of jail with 24 strokes of the cane for raping his then 11-year-old niece in 2001.
After releasing from the prison in 2016, the man married the victim’s mother in 2017. The victim was staying with her father before moving in with the accuse and her mother in 2017.
The victim’s mother knew about the past of the accuse and she trusted that he is a changed man. The victim has a good relationship with the accuse, but that doesn’t stop him from committing the inhuman act on her.
During Feb 2018 to Dec 2018, the accuse sexually assaulted the victim multiple time. On one occasion, the accuse had even “fingered” the victim. He then did the same to the victim’s friend when she came over to visit.
Due to him being a repeated offender, in order to protect the public interest, the accuse was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment today (Jun 12).
