A video of a rubbish chute catching fire has emerged on social media platforms.

Smoke could be seen billowing out of the rubbish chute and an alarm could be heard going off in the background.
A resident living at the block speculates that someone must’ve thrown a cigarette down the chute without stubbing it out first.
He added that the alarm is disturbing the residents in the block.
The incident purportedly happened somewhere in Woodlands, at a HDB block.
