A South Korean man bought a used refrigerator online and according to MBC News, he found a whopping 110 million won (or SGD $130,000) in cash taped under it.
He was cleaning his new fridge when he found the money.
The man then reported the matter to the police and they are holding the cash while investigating the source of the money.
The sellers and the transporters of the fridge are being investigated as well.
South Korea’s Lost and Found Act dictates that the money shall go to the person who found it if the owner doesn’t come forward to claim it within 6 months.
The person who found it will be due a compensation of 5 to 20 percent of the money.
If the money is related to a crime, the entirety will go to the authorities.
