A netizen shared how a scammer allegedly posed as a Singapore police officer and warned the public to be careful.
The scammer had tried to pose as an officer with the CID, while wearing a shoddily made police “uniform” – his “police” hat even had the New York Yankees logo on it.
The man even had the cheek to produce a “pass” in an attempt to convince his victims of his “identity”.
Here is what the woman had to say:
“Dear all, please take note of this scammer.
Video calls targets to show uniform
He will call you and say he is from CID and that he needs to verify your atm and bank card details…
DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY DETAILS!!!!!
He will even video call you to show he is wearing a police uniform to dupe you( you can tell all is fake, but our elders may fall for the scam)
Please inform your loved ones so that they can be more careful.
