A woman was scammed into making payments to “secure” the viewing. This is a common scam tactic that is used in the United Kingdom.
It looks like now even in Singapore we see a variation of such scams.
Here is what the victim said:
DO NOT PAY ANY DEPOSIT before viewing the room/house, they even will provide their agent pass with valid CEA num but it does not belong to them.They will use con man words’ many people is waiting for this room, very limited unit, owner not staying and etc.. will demand to pay the total or partial payment to lock the room/house from other people viewing. They even dare to call and talk to you..SCAM ,PLEASE REPORT.
Another netizen almost fell prey to the same scammer
Both of the incidents was using the same tactic to scam victims into “securing” the unit for them to view or to lease.
“Same guy chatting with me. Soon I realized it’s a scam, stopped responding.”
