SEEKING MEDICAL FUNDS FOR INJURED CAT THAT WAS HIT BY VEHICLE.

234567897654This is a serious SOS situation. We are trying to help someone who has never rescued an animal but found this cat injured, suspected of possibly being hit by a vehicle and she couldn’t bare seeing the cat suffering so arranged for a trapper to bring it to the vet. After the first vet visit, the cat started peeing quite a bit of blood so it has been brought to another clinic that is better suited to treat it’s injuries. Please read the information provided by Eileen Chua below as she is helping her friend with this. We hope we can raise enough money to help this cat or it will have to be put to sleep if we can’t raise the money it needs for hospitalization, treatment and surgery.

20 Nov Update after Midnight ( what I managed to collate)

1) Cat now named Wudi -meaning unbeaten/invincible; changed from first name of Dirty. This is to give him more positive vibes to continue in his fight to survive. Fingers crossed.

2) Cat has been seen by a vet in Mount Pleasant Jalan Gelengang and is currently hospitalised to help it stabilise and for observation before a surgeon assesses his condition further.

3) 2nd assessment:
Fractures found on the side of Wudi’s hips and pelvis area. Due to fractures, his pelvis canal has narrowed. So 2 possible scenarios to observe:

Worst case – Wudi might have difficulties in pooping and thus be constipated in near future. It could cause long term damage and he may need to be on medicine for rest of his life. The vet advised they need to observe WuDi for two weeks. If he didn’t manage to poop regularly, he might need surgery to repair the fractures. Surgery might cost $4k to $6k on first estimation.

Good case scenario- If he’s really WuDi (unbeaten), and he manages to poop, then he might just need lots of bed rest and medicine. The fractures however could take some time to heal itself.

In either of the scenario, WuDi cannot be left outdoors as a result. Will ask if the surgeon can give us his perspective when he is in on Thursday.

Was told hospitalisation costs abt $65/- per night, not including GST n medicine. Clinic is willing to give a stray discount.

4) Will aim to get an interim bill itemisation from clinic tmrw for the consultation and medical services received thus far.

5) As at 19 Nov, excluding the first $250 from Ms Jenice Lam (who discovered Wudi) that was used to engage trapper and settle the first vet fees on 17 Nov, another $295 was raised from donations received as of 19 Nov based on info provided to me. We will use this sum, together with the balance of $91.50 from the first vet visit, towards settling the required first deposit of $200 to the Mount Pleasant clinic on 20 Nov.

1) Koh Kai Ting (Xu Kaiting) $15
2) Quek Geradene Alexandne@Dinar Aleksandra $50
3) Muhammad Zaharaul Bin Mohamed Isa $10
4). Huang Bingjie $20
5) Eileen Chua $50
6) Jenice Lam $50
7) Sally Lam $100

Total received $295.

Thank you very much. Hope you can continue to share, so Wudi can have the best chance to get through his plight.

If I have missed out acknowledging anyone, will do so in my next update after I check again.

Thank you!

19 Nov: Injured stray cat needs urgent medical attention as it is now peeing blood. Need help with medical funds as it likely requires surgery which is hard for one person who found the cat to bear alone. 80% of surgery fee ( estimated $5k) required as deposit if need surgery. If do not have the amount, Cat can’t have the surgery if money is not raised. Sad to say, may have to put to sleep to end its pain if we face that scenario of not being to get the money for surgery.

Help in donations/ fund raising, no matter how small, will still be very valuable. Help the cat to have a chance for survival!
