Facebook user Wong Kasper recently took to Facebook to voice his frustration after his neighbour started to burn incense paper along the common corridor a few times a month. The neighbour would then place the burning bin deliberately under their window. Reports were made by to the respective agencies but they were then advised to seek community mediation.

My family and I will like to seek public opinions of what have been happening since 2019 till now.
Our next-door neighbour will burn incense papers along the common corridor for religious purposes few times a month.
Our neighbour will then deliberately place their burning bin (Without Cover) directly under our window. We have to remove our living hall curtains worrying that the burning might cause fire to our unit ( any burning papers possibly of “flying” into our unit) and the same time whenever the burning happen, my old aged father will have to take a bit of time to shut the window after realizing the heavy smoke coming into our unit. We had decided to lodge our concern via one service app ( Pictures Attached ).
The relevant agencies, town council & NEA were notified. Town council start sending their officers to advise our neighbour to use the designated burning bin facilities below our void deck. End of day ,they will still continue to burn as they want.We start writing to the MPs and lodged police reports via IWitness nevertheless the burning continues.
Today when the burning happens again, I went out of our unit and immediately take the footage( Pictures Attached ). They then arrogantly posed and said ” hey what can you do about it ” after which they too start taking footage of me and called the Police ( Shouldn’t we be the one calling up the police instead ? ). No Conflicts, No Fights, No Arguments. And of course, I am glad to share everything again to the police officers when they knock on us.
The Police Officers recommend us to seek community mediation. Although we believe in free will & human rights yet we will not bow our heads to such deliberate selfish acts and intimidation. My father is a Taoism too and he will bring his incense papers down to the designated burning area provided by town council yet seem like our neighbor are being granted special concessions and even further do so with ill intention to burn directly under our window.Now we are helpless and have no clue of how to proceed further to stop this agonizing monthly event. They may not be breaking the law and the relevant authorities may not be able to take any actions against them.
Does it mean that only when a fire happens or the prolong smoke start deteriorating my father’s health , then we will only be heard and pay attention to? Please do kindly help us with your opinions and hope that the relevant authorities will review this case sincerely.
