Former Singapore Idol Sezairi Sezali created history by becoming the first Singaporean singer to have more than 100 million streams on his song, on Spotify.
His song, It’s You, was first released in 2018 and later included in his 2020 EP, Undertones; and it then went viral around the world when it started being used by TikTokers on their videos.
His hit song then hit the Global Viral 50 on Spotify, and the music video on Youtube has since raked in more than 64 million views.
The singer posted a photo onto his Instagram page celebrating the achievement:
“Here to report that you guys have made me the first Singapore artist to have 100 million streams for a Single on Spotify!
‘It’s you’ was written with the conscious thought that I wanted to turn my life around and be a better person, husband, lover and human being. To see it mean so much to so many of you has restored my faith in the beauty and humanity of music. 

Music is healing and writing music for the past 15 years has made me painfully aware of my own brokenness. Through it all I’ve learnt that the validation I’ve always been seeking was always here, within. Thank you for helping me achieve this milestone in my journey towards becoming whole.
Thank you for sharing the love that started with a thought, turned into words that concluded in such positive catharsis for me. Thank you endlessly.
