The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has issued a recall for a popular Caramel Corn snack.
This snack is the favourite of many, that are no food safety concerns other than people who are allergic to almonds.
Here is what SFA said on Facebook:
Food Standards Australia New Zealand has issued a recall alert on Tohato Caramel Corn Original Flavour products due to the presence of undeclared treenut [almond] allergen. It does not pose a food safety issue to consumers at large, except for those who are allergic to almonds.
As the implicated product was imported into Singapore, SFA has directed 2 importers, Redmart Ltd and JFC (S) Pte Ltd, to recall the product. The recall is ongoing.
The affected batches of products have Best Before dates up to and including:
11 Jan 2022, 12 Mar 2022, 05 Apr 2022, 12 Apr 2022, 10 May 2022, 13 May 2022 and 22 May 2022.
Consumers who have purchased the affected product, and who are allergic to almonds, should not consume it. Those who have consumed the implicated product and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
