SFA RECALLS INSTANT SATAY SPICES FOR CONTAINING AFLATOXINS THAT CAUSE CANCER

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has ordered Li Kwong Agencies Co, a food manufacturer, to recalls their batches of Instant Satay Spices product.

This is because the product was discovered to contain aflatoxins that cause cancer, exceeding the maximum standards set out in the regulations.

Aflatoxins are genotoxic, which means they damage genetic materials of cells and lead to mutations, resultantly leading to cancer.

The affected batches have an expiry date of 19 January 2022 and come in 50g or 500g packets.

The affected batches of the Instant Satay Spices product have an expiry date of Jan 19, 2022, and are in 50g or 500g packets.
