A Singaporean girl recently posted on Facebook after she felt that because she is very pretty she encounters many issues which she felt were worse compared to other girls who complain that they look average.

Some posts complain about looking average, so I am going to share some downsides of looking pretty. I’ll leave y’all to judge which one is worse.
I am told to be conventionally & globally attractive. When I walk on the street, men look at me, women look at me too. I can certainly feel some guys giving me stares (some of them are even with their girlfriends :/) and purposely walking towards my direction (uncomfortable distance, ~10cm) even though there’s plenty of space on their side.
The issue worsens on public transport, where the space is so limited. I get stared at often on the train, some guys even followed (!) me from one carriage to another. I had to scold them off and jump onto another train. I rarely take public transport alone for that reason.
Whenever I go to hawker centres with my bf, all men stare at me that made both of us uncomfortable, so we stopped going to neighborhood hawker centres altogether. Just now when I was at food republic, the man at the opposite table was giving me stares for the entire duration and tried to move close, I was holding back not to give a mid finger in the end.
I dress somehow conservatively: I never wear tank tops or denim shorts, or any outfits that are too tight. Even so, my friend pointed out that many pass by guys were checking on my figure when we were at an outdoor cafe
Many guys asked for my phone number, old and young, some are unhappy that I wanted to keep only “as friends”. As a result, i became quite cold and aloof to strangers, esp the opposite sex.
