
According to a media release, Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Chan Chun Sing has announced that the Singapore government will create 100,000 new jobs in 2021 to assist Singaporean to cope with the impact that was bought the pandemic.
According to the minister, many Singaporeans have lost their job due to the impact caused by the pandemic. There is a drop in income, businesses shutting down for good and many businesses are struggling.
In order to help this group of people, the Singapore Government are prepared to spend close to $100 billion budget to save the struggling business and the people affected.
According to the minister, about 100,000 jobs which are 3 times the annual number will be created to help those who lose their job or fresh graduate who just left school during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If the situation is not getting better, more jobs will be created. The government will ensure that the capacity of training institutions will increase to help train workers with new skills that were required for the new economy.
Job centres will be set up in every town to assist displaced workers to find a new job.
