Facebook user Jason Lee shared a shocking incident that happened to his friend which resulted in the amputation of his finger. It was believed that he was pricked by a contaminated prawn at the wet market.
Here is the full story which Jason Lee has posted.
“I was pricked by a raw prawn bought from wet mkt. During the washing and cleaning i was pricked. I hv been pricked many times before and thought this was no difference. After 1 day, finger turned black and was running a mild fever. Went to a 24 hr clinic in TPY and was told to go A&E immediately.
Was in surgery the same evening and stay in hospital for 7 days with 2 in ICU. Was told i was attacked by fresh eating bacteria. Doc said shud i waited for another 1more day i may hv lost my arm or perhaps pass on. Seems bacteria had already gone to my armpit and progressing to the other part if my body. Well, tell you family members do be v careful when cleaning raw prawns or seafood.”
