SG’S CASINOS MAKE MILLIONS AFTER RE-OPENING, S’POREANS LOSING MONEY

As COVID-19 situation in Singapore improves, casinos in Singapore resume their operations. In the short period of re-opening, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) has reported a net profit of $54.4 million from gambling alone.

However, this earning was much lesser as compared to the previous year when tourists were still allowed in the country. Since phrase two of the re-opening non-gaming earning has also increased to $59.9 million. This figure was better than the 16.3 million reported in the previous quarter.

Similarly, Marina Bay Sands (MBS), has also reported a higher profit from their gaming revenue. MBS has reportedly generated $94.4 million since their re-opening back in July this year.

Although it was 84 per cent lower than last year, the figure is still better than what was reported in the second quarter when they made a loss of $152 million.
