In a shocking turn of events on Saturday, October 28th, a section of the ceiling at the Megah Rise Mall gave way during a heavy downpour, leaving three individuals injured. This incident has stirred concern, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
What happened?
On a seemingly routine Saturday afternoon, disaster struck when the ceiling of the car porch in front of the Megah Rise Mall entrance collapsed, causing havoc during strong winds and a heavy downpour around 3 p.m.
In the video, a group of security officers were seen trying to evacuate the shoppers inside the mall, as the ceiling behind them slowly collapsed.
However, the shoppers were too slow in getting out, with one man still seen whipping out his phone inside the collapsing building and fiddling with it.
A man behind him was pushing a baby pram and even stopped to turn around and watched as the ceiling collapsed on him, unable to make it out in time.
There also appeared to be another elderly person who didn’t make it out in time, as the other shoppers fled in horror.
Megah Rise Mall said that there were three “minor injuries” from the incident, as investigations are ongoing.
