SIA get fine by EU with $1.2B for being involved in air cargo cartel!

European Union antitrust regulators has fine Singapore Airline and 10 other airline with a €776 million (S$1.2 billion) fine for their participation in what was said to be an air cargo cartel.

The European Commission thought to pull back the penalties after an earlier verdict was void due to a procedural error.

Between December 1999 and February 2006, the airlines was suspect of setting fuel and security additions.

Freight forwarders who book cargo space on aircraft and companies that transport goods are usually the one charges by the airlines.
