A pair of siblings were reportedly trying to fry some chicken nuggets for themselves.

The brother was frying nuggets for the both of them when his sister smelled something burning and saw the pan on fire.
She then turned off the stove and tried to smother the flames with a blanket and some items of clothing, but the plastic shelf nearby continued to melt.
The fire then reignited and the siblings had no choice but to call the SCDF.
The SCDF confirmed that they responded to a fire at a kitchen stove on the 10th floor of a HDB flat at Tampines Street 81, and that 6 other neighbours (including the siblings) were evacuated.

It is worth highlighting that the siblings are grown adults in their 20s.
