On 4 February 2021, a Facebook user shared his experience of items being more expensive at NTUC Fairprice compared to IKEA Singapore.

The user wanted to buy some pussy willows when he realized that the price of it at IKEA was $8.90 while buying from NTUC will cost him $18. The difference in price was close to $10.
Said by the user, “IKEA Singapore is selling pussy willows (5 colours red, purple, yellow, pink and white) at $8.90 for 10 stalks whilst NTUC Fairprice is selling them at cut throat price of $18.00 for 10 stalks.NTUC Fairprice has always been renowned for its lowest price items but not so this year.“
