Families across Singapore will receive a financial boost this month as part of the Government’s continued efforts to ease the burden of raising children. Eligible Singaporean families will receive S$500 in Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) for each child aged 12 and below, while older children will benefit from top-ups to their Edusave or Post-Secondary Education Accounts (PSEAs).

The Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) announced the disbursement of these funds in a joint statement on 3 July, highlighting that these initiatives form part of the household support measures introduced at Budget 2025 to help families cope with rising child-raising costs.

Credits & Top-Ups Timed for July Disbursement

Children born between 2013 and 2024 are expected to receive their CLC credits during the week of 7 July. Those born in 2025 will receive their credits in April 2026. Approximately 450,000 children are expected to benefit from this initiative. Meanwhile, students aged 13 to 20—about 300,000 in total—will each receive a one-off S$500 top-up to their Edusave accounts or PSEAs.

These credits can be used on essential household expenses such as groceries, pharmacy purchases, utilities, or transport, providing direct and flexible support to families. By injecting funds directly into households, the Government aims to alleviate the cost of living pressures faced by parents and caregivers.

Disbursement Through LifeSG App & SMS Notifications

For children eligible for the Child LifeSG Credits, the funds will be credited directly into the digital wallet of the Child Development Account trustee via the LifeSG application. There is no need for families to submit applications; instead, parents will receive an SMS notification once the credits have been successfully credited to their wallet.

Similarly, parents of students receiving the Edusave or PSEA top-up will be informed by SMS when the S$500 has been disbursed. The MOE and MSF noted that these top-ups are in addition to the Government’s annual Edusave contributions and are meant to help families cover education-related expenses such as tuition fees, enrichment programmes, and school materials.

Helping Families Cope with Rising Expenses

These measures, which include high-CPM keywords such as child education support, household financial aid, and cost of raising children in Singapore, are expected to generate significant public interest. They come at a time when many Singaporean families are feeling the pinch of inflation and rising living costs.

The Government’s proactive approach in providing direct financial assistance underscores its commitment to supporting families and ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality education and basic needs.
