Singapore Households To Receive Additional S$300 CDC Vouchers In January 2027

All Singaporean households will receive an additional S$300 in Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers in January 2027 as part of a new government support package aimed at helping families cope with rising living costs.

The announcement was made by Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Jeffrey Siow on July 29 during a press conference outlining a S$900 million support package introduced in response to cost pressures arising from the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

The latest measures come on top of the assistance announced during Budget 2026 and the S$1 billion support package unveiled earlier this year.

Additional Support To Ease Cost Pressures

According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the new package is intended to help households and businesses manage higher costs caused by elevated global energy prices.

Although the worst-case scenario following developments in the Middle East did not materialise, the government said the situation remains fragile.

Jeffrey Siow said higher global energy prices are expected to result in increased costs for petrol, diesel, electricity and certain imported goods, adding to inflationary pressures faced by households.

To help offset these rising expenses, every Singaporean household will receive S$300 in CDC Vouchers in January 2027.

The vouchers will remain valid until Dec. 31, 2027.

This follows the distribution of S$500 CDC Vouchers that households received in June 2026.

Enhanced U-Save Rebates For Eligible HDB Households

The government will also enhance U-Save rebates in October 2026 and January 2027 to help households manage higher utility bills.

These enhancements build on the additional U-Save rebates already provided in April and July this year.

With the latest enhancements, eligible HDB households will receive between S$110 and S$190 per quarter, which is double the regular GST Voucher U-Save amount.

The government expects the enhanced rebates to fully offset higher utility bills for Singaporean households living in four-room HDB flats or smaller until March 2027.

More Assistance For Lower-Income Families

Lower-income households will also receive additional support through temporary enhancements to ComCare Interim Assistance.

From Aug. 17 to Dec. 31, 2026, eligible households will receive monthly payouts of at least S$250 for up to three months, with larger households or those facing greater financial difficulties receiving more assistance where necessary.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) said eligibility rules will also be applied more flexibly during this period, allowing more households experiencing financial hardship to qualify for assistance even if they exceed the usual income threshold.

Households already receiving ComCare Short-to-Medium-Term Assistance can also request a review if they require additional help.

Successful applicants will receive a Temporary Supplementary Allowance that increases their monthly cash assistance by at least 5 per cent or S$50, whichever is higher, for up to three months.

Government Says Measures Aim To Cushion Rising Costs

The latest support package is designed to help Singaporeans manage rising expenses while global economic uncertainty continues.

Officials said the measures are intended to cushion the impact of higher energy and import costs on households, while providing additional assistance to businesses and lower-income families most affected by the current economic environment.
