SINGAPORE LEGAL SMOKING AGE CHANGING FROM 18 TO 21

Today our Senior Health Minister Amy Khor announce that the smoking age will change from 18 to 21.

She mentioned

“(We) see significant value in moving in this direction, so as to reduce the appeal of tobacco products, particularly to youths, and raise the visibility and effectiveness of health warnings,”.

Dr Khor said that Studies have shown that most smokers become regular smokers between this age of 18 t o 21 years old.

She also added that packaging of Tobacco products will be standardised.
