Singapore-Registered Car Catches Fire at Johor Checkpoint
A dramatic incident unfolded at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex in Johor, Malaysia, last night when a Singapore-registered car suddenly burst into flames.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was engulfed in flames at the exit lane leading towards Singapore, causing a stir among travelers and officials at the Malaysian checkpoint. Driver Escapes Unhurt

Johor Bahru South Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat confirmed that the incident occurred around 8:15 pm, and fortunately, the Singaporean driver escaped without injury.
Firefighters Respond Swiftly
Firefighters responded quickly to the emergency, taking approximately 25 minutes to fully extinguish the flames. The state fire and rescue department has launched an investigation into the cause of the fire and will assess the extent of the damage.
Preliminary Findings
Preliminary findings suggest that the fire may have originated from the car’s engine, spreading rapidly to damage around 60% of the vehicle. The emergency rapid response team stationed at the Sultan Iskandar Building played a crucial role in containing the fire before the arrival of the fire department, according to Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Nizam Mohammad.
