So we have noticed this since last year, and have put up multiple paper notice to tell them kindly not to smoke and throw their cigarette butts here.
At first they just threw on the floor, but now they purposely throw inside the plants. Some.kre now smoke at corridor is illegal (although everyone still does it).
Because we have no idea which unit is doing this, if not we will approach them and make a police report already.
Should I install camera myself? Already wrote to town council and hdb not no further action or replies.
Potential penalties
It is illegal to smoke at HDB corridors, including stairwells, staircase landings and void decks. Persons found guilty of smoking in those prohibited areas, face a composition fine of $200 or up to $1,000 if convicted in court.
Littering is an offence in Singapore and is defined as dropping, placing or throwing any article or t hing in a public place except a rubbish bin.
Persons caught littering face a fine of up to $2,000 for the first offence as well as the possibility of Corrective Work Order.
