SMRT APOLOGISES FOR TRAIN FAULT – SORRY FOR AFFECTING YOUR JOURNEYS

Ho Foo Sing, the SMRT head of circle line, apologised for the signal-related fault along the circle line that caused delays on May 10.

Ho said “we are sorry to have affected commuters’ peak hour journeys”, and he then explained that there was a signal-related fault alone the circle line at about 8am.

Train movement between Holland Village and Haw Par Villa was affected, and it was rectified within 5 minutes.

Videos emerged online showing some stations between very crowded due to the long waiting times, and the commuters were informed of the longer wait times through announcements in the train and stations.

Extra staff were also stationed to help with the management of the crowd.
