A video emerged online yesterday showing a YP purposely skating in front of a security guard at Esplanade MRT Station.

A man (later revealed to be an SMRT staff) was seen in the video tackling the boy off his skateboard onto the ground.
The incident happened on 20 August at around 10.25pm, at Esplanade MRT.
SMRT later posed on Facebook that they were aware of the incident, and apologised for the staff’s action, calling it an “overreaction”.
The staff had reportedly told the YP to stop skateboarding because it was not allowed, for the safety of other commuters.

The staff has since been suspended.
