SMUGGLERS HIDE 126 CARTONS OF CHINA CIGARETTES IN TV BOX, CAUGHT BY ICA

According to a media release by the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA), officers at Tanjong Pagar scanning station detected cigarettes hidden in TV boxes.

The incident happened on Feb 2 2021.

The box which was meant to store a television has been replaced with 南京 cigarettes, a popular cigarette brand in China.

The box arrived in a shipping container and a total of 172 cartons of duty-unpaid cigarettes were found.
