SOME HDB RESIDENTS THINK THEY DIY EXPERT, HAMMER & HAMMER NOTHING FIXED KNN

If you’ve been hammering for three days and nothing is fixed, JUST STOP. YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERT.

Knn, I really cannot tahan some of these neighbors. I don’t know if it’s a mid-life crisis or they just watched too many “5-Minute Crafts” videos, but some people really think they are the God of DIY.

Look, I get it. You want to save some money. You want to feel “manly” or “handy” by fixing your own shelves or mounting your own TV. But there is a massive difference between a 20-minute drilling job and whatever the hell is happening in unit #12-34. It has been three days of non-stop tak-tak-tak-tak and the high-pitched screaming of a drill that clearly isn’t meant for HDB concrete.

If you have been hammering for 72 hours and your “project” still isn’t finished, it’s not because you’re “meticulous.” It’s because you have no idea what you’re doing. You’re probably drilling into a structural beam or turning your wall into Swiss cheese because you didn’t measure properly. Act one expert, but end up doing and doing, making so much noise for the whole floor, and for what?

The worst part is that we all know how this ends. After a week of torturing the neighbors with renovation-level noise during work-from-home hours, these people will eventually give up. They’ll realize they messed up the leveling or hit a pipe, and then they’ll have to suck it up and call a professional contractor or an Interior Designer to come in and fix their “masterpiece.”

If you need a professional, just call one from day one lah! Don’t act like you’re some DIY influencer when you can’t even drive a screw in straight. You’re wasting your time, you’re wasting your money on replacement parts, and most importantly, you’re killing my eardrums. If the job takes more than a weekend, you aren’t “doing it yourself”—you’re just committing a crime against peace and quiet.

Seriously, know your limits. If you’re not a pro, don’t act like one. Your neighbors will thank you.
