A father got into debt for no reason after his son used his mobile phone to play games and bought “diamonds”.
Here is the story:
My son is very young and probably does not know that money is hard to come by, other than the monthly expenses of raising our son there are a lot of bills such as housing loans, car loans, insurance and many more.
I was shocked when my bill showed $4,450++!!! On further inspection, I realised that my son has somehow tied the game to my phone bill as the payment method for buying in-game diamonds!
I also don’t know what game he playing, I questioned him and he said that he thought the money spent is in-game money and felt guilty after realising that the money was real money.
I called the company and they told me as my line provider as charged the amount they told me that it is not reversible.
Jialat, I am already not rich and I barely have enough savings in my account. Now suddenly this extra expenditure comes I also don’t know-how.
It is also true I’m not well planned for impromptu expenditure and I should have saved more but with the number of loans over my head I feel that I can barely save up any money.
Can anyone advise me what to do? Should I get a loan to get by this hard period or should I not take a loan. Part of me feel like just taking a loan and settle the problem but when I think about my upcoming renovation loan repayment I headache.
