The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Singapore has issued a statement in response to the viral video of a boy caught on CCTV throwing a cat down from a HDB building.
SPCA’s statement
CAT BEING FLUNG OFF HDB BUILDING
The SPCA was alerted to a case of a cat being flung off a HDB building by a young boy on 15 December 2022 and have since escalated it to the authorities.
We are deeply disturbed by the actions captured in the footage.
Animal abuse and cruelty have no place in our society. We stand strongly against animal cruelty and are working closely with the authorities on the case for the next course of action.

According to the video caption, the incident took place at 186 Boon Lay Avenue. The CCTV’s date is 14 December 2022 at around 1.35 PM.
A child could be seen walking around outside a lift lobby and after picking up the cat and making sure no one is looking he threw the cat out of the building.
A loud bang could be heard in the video.
