“SPECIAL MASSAGE” RAIDED BY POLICE AT BALESTIER RD & OXLEY RISE

The police conducted an islandwide enforcement check on massage outlets and found 63 establishments that breached the Massage Establishments Act and the Massage Establishment Rules 2018.

The establishments were found to provide massage services in an establishment for massage without a valid license and failing to ensure employees do not provide sexual services, as well as breaches under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020. 

Police conducted checks at 17 sites suspected of housing unregistered massage businesses or vice activities located in shop-houses, condos, and private apartments as part of the operations, and nine of these units were reportedly found to have violated the Massage Establishments Act.

In addition, as a result of these inspections, police detained one male and 19 women, aged 27 to 54, for different alleged violations of the Women’s Charter.
