Kotra Venkata Sai Rohankrishna, a 19-year-old Singaporean, pleaded guilty to 2 charges under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures0 (Control Order) Regulations 2020 and fined $4,000 yesterday (31 May).
He had dressed up as Spider-man to film a video for his YouTube channel, where he and three of his friends joined a crowd at Clarke Quay on New Year’s Eve last year.
He was seen in the video actively engaging the crowd, which he uploaded onto YouTube showing himself breaching Covid-19 safe management measures.
He had come up with the idea of interviewing drunk members of the public for his YouTube channel and enlisted the help of his friends, Glaxy Low Xuan Ming, Lee Hern Sing and Mr Putchakayala Akash.
He met the three of his friends on 31 December to interview public members at Prinsep Street, and was in a Spider-man costume to attract attention to himself, which he wore for the rest of the night.
They then moved to Clarke Quay at about 11pm where the large crowds were and they gathered with several members of the public from about 11.30pm to 12.15am to record footage across Clarke Quay.
The self-incriminating video was uploaded to his YouTube channel on 3 January.
