The two individuals were reportedly filming a drama together when the arrest took place. Jawi officers had difficulty entering the condominium unit, and when the actor and the actress refused to open the door, the religious authorities contacted Malaysia’s Fire and Rescue department for assistance. After nearly three hours outside the unit, the actor purportedly agreed to open the door when firefighters threatened to force their entry into the condominium.

The actor and the actress were taken to a Jawi office for processing. The reason for their arrest is not yet clear, but it is understood that the male actor had been seen entering the actress’s house several times. The incident highlights the strict religious laws in Malaysia, where the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department is responsible for enforcing Islamic laws and regulations. It is not uncommon for the department to conduct raids and arrest individuals for violating religious laws.

Investigated for adultery

The Federal Territories Department of Islamic Religion (Jawi) confirmed that an inspection had been carried out by its Enforcement Division at the location where two celebrities were arrested last night.

Jawi in a statement to Harian Metro said that further investigation was conducted against suspects or Suspects (OYDS) under the provisions of the Syariah Criminal Offenses Act (Federal Territories) 1997 [Act 559], Section 27 (Khalwat).
