A Singapore couple had a frightening brush with disaster while travelling along a Malaysian highway after their vehicle was thrown into the air and flipped onto the opposite side of the road. Despite the dramatic accident, both occupants survived and suffered only minor injuries.
The incident occurred while the couple were driving along the Kuala Lumpur–Seremban Expressway during a road trip from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. According to the driver, the situation unfolded within seconds after another vehicle suddenly entered his lane, forcing him to take evasive action.
Although the crash looked severe, there were no fatalities reported in the accident.
Sudden Lane Change Triggered Chain Reaction Crash
The Singapore driver later recounted the ordeal on social media, explaining that he and his wife had been travelling normally along the highway before the situation suddenly escalated.
He claimed that a blue car unexpectedly cut into his lane without warning. In an attempt to avoid a collision, he swerved, but the sudden manoeuvre caused him to lose control of his vehicle.
The driver’s Singapore-registered Toyota Land Cruiser Prado subsequently collided with a lorry before spinning across the road. The vehicle then struck a road divider, which caused it to flip into the air.
After becoming airborne, the vehicle eventually landed upright on the opposite side of the highway.
Dashcam Footage Captures Dramatic Moment
Footage from another vehicle’s dashcam captured the shocking moment the SUV flipped across the highway.
The video shows the vehicle being launched into the air before coming down on its wheels on the other side of the road. The violent motion of the crash left both the front and rear portions of the vehicle severely damaged.
Despite the intensity of the crash, the couple managed to escape with relatively minor injuries.
The driver later remarked online that based on the severity of the accident, they were fortunate to have survived.
A Frightening Anniversary Memory
The couple had been travelling together as part of a personal trip that coincided with a significant milestone in their relationship.
The driver revealed that the accident happened on the same day as their 18th wedding anniversary, turning what was meant to be a celebratory journey into a traumatic experience.
