Countries after countries had came out to condemn and criticise Russia over its invasion of Ukraine ever since it all began on 24 February 2022.
Apart from just condemning and criticising Russia’s acts, many countries have also imposed sanctions on Russia and as for Singapore, we are also no exception.
Singapore for one, has imposed four different sanctions on Russian banks and also controlled the exports of certain goods to Russia.
Due to our actions, Russia has decided to include us inside the list of unfriendly countries along with 48 other countries, bringing the list to 49.
It has been noted that we are the only South East Asian (SEA) country to be inside the list created by Russia.
Being in the list effectively means that any deals between countries in the list and Russian entities will have to be approved by the Government commission in Russia.
