44-year-old Mahgandran Narahjah, was sentenced to one year and one week imprisonment after pleading guilty to charges that include 2 counts of assault, according to The Straits Times.
The incident happened on 9 June 2021, he had assaulted his 67-year-old mother over a faulty drawer, and she ended up being hospitalised for 20 days after the assault.
He had pushed his mother before using a broomstick to hit her, and after she got up, he then kicked her in the stomach, causing her to fall onto the ground again.
The elderly mother then got up again and the man’s girlfriend tried to break them apart by escorting the victim out of the unit.
But Mahgandran continued to follow the victim and hit his mother’s left arm with his shoe that was left at the corridor.
He later married his girlfriend in June 2022, and 2 months after their marriage, he assaulted his 38-year-old now-wife.
