Facebook user Sea Urchin, shared in a post on Tuesday (25 April) that he found a piece of glass shard in a Pandan Swiss roll that he bought from Polar Puffs & Cakes’ outlet at Sembawang Shopping Centre.
He had bitten into the glass shard while eating it, and then took to Facebook to complain about his purchase, and Polar Puffs & Cakes then responded and reached out to him to investigate the issue.
The man said that he had passed them the piece of glass shard for their investigation and the company offered to give him a refund.
In his Facebook post, the man said that after biting onto “something solid” while eating the Swiss roll, he spit it out and “to (his) horror,” it was a piece of glass.
He then asked what would happen if he had swallowed the tiny piece of glass shard, saying that he can’t imagine the consequences.

Yesterday I bought Polar Puffs & Cakes Pandan Swiss roll from Sembawang shopping basement 1 outlet.
Today while eating.
Feel something solid and I split out
To my horror, it is a piece of glass.
As shown in attachment.
I cannot imagine if I were to swallow it.

Polar cakes had contacted me.
I will pass them the foreign object for their investigation and a refund will be issued to me.
Polar Puffs & Cakes responds
Following the incident, Polar Puffs & Cakes said that they have since reached out to the customer, and said that they are following up on the issue and investigating the incident.
The company said that they are working closely with the customer to address and resolve the matter.
The netizen then updated his original Facebook post to reflect that Polar Puffs & Cakes have reached out to him and passed them the foreign object that he found for their follow up investigations.
