A netizen, Andrew Lee, shared the photo on Facebook with the caption: “fwd as recd”, to which netizens then jumped in with racist comments after mistaking his family as foreigners.

The man in the poster then came out and clarified in an Instagram post that it is his family in the poster, and that everyone of them Singapore citizens who were born here.
