A Facebook user, Zhi Wei, shared on the Facebook group 2WHEELERS.SG detailing how he had the brakes and mirror from his motorcycle stolen while being parked in Johor Bahru.

Hi all! Would like to just share an unfortunate experience during my short trip to KSL, JB.
Just on Tuesday (5/7/22), I parked my bike at KSL’s multistorey carpark at L3. I have heard of incidents happening despite parking at the mall. But to me, it is still safer than parking along the road/ around the area, hence I still choose to park in the mall.
I was there from about 2-5pm, and when I came back, I was robbed, my front brake lever was stolen (Brembo brake master cylinder) together with the brake reservoir and the right mirror.
The theft simply snipped off the hose and took it all out! So brutal! I have to say, fortunately, the caliper was still intact! If not it will be a huge problem to me and my wallet.
I had local friends to help out and recommended a workshop that their own local people go to. Initially was a bit stressful getting out of the steep downslope carpark without a front brake, let alone traveling on the road.
Only relying on rear brakes and engine braking, it was all fine once I got out of the carpark. Total damage was 650RM (Brembo brake pump set, reservoir, brake fluid, hose, a pair of mirrors, and workmanship).
Honestly idk if it was a reasonable price. The mechanic was so nice and prioritised my bike and even asked his regular customer who had an appointment to change his pipe to come back another day.
So… even if I’m overcharged, I am not gonna complain, as I really just wanted to head back home afterward.
Of course, I know the risk there is when traveling to JB, but there is only so much that one can do in taking precautions.
Simple things like steering lock, ensuring everthing is locked (ie box), parking in well populated carpark and not leaving your keys on the bike, etc.

PS. if anyone has a right-side stock mirror or a pair of stock mirror open to sell/trade. Or if you are looking for a left mirror. Do DM me! I don’t really like the tiny mirrors that the workshop had. Too small and magnified.
