S’PORE MAN TO BE CHARGED FOR BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WITH 12 PEOPLE

A 53-year-old man will be charged in court for breaching safe distancing measures under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.

He allowed 12 guests into his home at Daisy Road, which included four artistes from Mediacorp.

The incident happened during Phase 2 of Reopening where a maximum of 5 people were allowed per gathering.

Another man is also due to be charged for breaching Covid-19 regulations; he allegedly invited three visitors to the party, knowing full well that doing so would exceed the limit of 5 people per gathering.

Both men face a fine of up to $10,000, a 6 month jail term, or both.

The other 11 visitors have each been hit with a composition fine of $300.
