S’PORE MAN WENT FOR RESERVIST, RETURNS & COMPANY “UNDERPAID” HIM CLOSE TO $1.8K

Not sure what to do (reservist payout)

Advertisements

Context: I’ve completed one reservist cycle in November (high key ICT). I was puzzled that the pay I receive from NS is not the correct amount. My company paid me accordingly to the days that I’m at work. From what I’ve always understood, this should be correct way as the company should send a make-up claim to NS portal.

Now my issue is this — I’ve contacted with the HR from my company. I’ve been told that now they don’t have to submit any make-up claim anymore as I will be paid by NS according to my CPF (possibly seeing my income on average and pay me from there). All these made sense. But I’ve stopped working for a few months this year, so the money that NS paid me (according to my CPF) made sense.

As a result, I’m being ‘underpaid’ almost close to $1.8k because of my high key. I’ve explained this to the person from my HR already but since November to now, I have not seen anything done :/

Open to any advice / suggestions or clarity.. thanks!

  • Assuming your company is those that don’t need to manually do mup claim, you should be paid the full amount by your company and then they claim from mindef
  • Last time i thought it was an error turns out to be safra payment. You can check the amount. They won’t even separate the deduction, but the number shd add up
  • Contact S1. Get them to email the instruction. Forward to HR. Done.
  • Has it been that way like the one your HR said? All along my company paying full amount of my salary and not pro rated. Understand that it is up to HR to settle with your NS dept
